Senior Cabinet Maker

Job Description

Living Edge Design is looking for an experienced, driven, and detail oriented Senior Cabinet Maker to join our skilled team of craftspeople in Squamish, BC. In this permanent, full-time position, you’ll leverage your experience in all areas of architectural millwork to build custom cabinetry, furniture, and other millwork products, working in a team and leading projects and phases as needed. You’ll act as a mentor for our apprentices and other less experienced coworkers, and do your part to maintain the positive, cooperative, and tight-knit community at Living Edge Design.

Working alongside our enthusiastic team of designers, project managers, and shop workers, you’ll help us deliver beautiful, high-end millwork projects on time, on budget, and according to project specifications.

Pay Range: $25/hour and up, based on experience

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10+ of experience in millwork engineering, particularly in manufacturing.

  • Proficient in all aspects of Architectural Millwork:

    • Using Sketchup, Mozaik, and/or other CAD/Design software.

    • Reading and interpreting shop drawings, and building products to spec.

    • Generating Cutlists.

    • Programming and Operating CNC Machine.

    • Using sliding table saw, edge banding machine, planar, routers, and other common shop equipment.

    • Fabrication and Installation.

    • Materials Management.

  • Leadership and Project Management Experience, with excellent communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for finding creative solutions to challenges.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in an organized manner.

  • A keen eye for detail, and a commitment to creating high-quality millwork.

  • Experience working with various material and hardware types, including solid timber, veneer, laminate, and more.

  • Understands both Imperial and Metric Measuring Systems

  • Capable of lifting at least 50lbs.

Helpful Skills

  • Journeyman or equivalent in wood-joinery.

  • Experience using project management software, such as Monday.com.

  • Proficient with complete Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience building high-end furniture and other non-cabinetry-related wood products.

  • Natural teaching and mentorship ability.
